Clinical Administrative Coordinator – Dunedin, FL (On-site)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional overtime)

Compensation / Salary: $17.74 – $31.63 per hour (based on full-time employment; dependent on market, education, experience, certifications)


Job Summary

Optum is seeking a Clinical Administrative Coordinator to manage administrative intake, referrals, prior authorizations, and care coordination across hospitals, clinics, and provider networks. You will triage member requests, process inbound and outbound referrals, support Clinical Coverage Review preparation, and ensure HIPAA‑compliant communication. This role is ideal for healthcare administration professionals with 2+ years of customer service experience in healthcare and hands-on exposure to referrals and prior auth workflows.


Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative intake of members and triage requests from providers/members.

  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations (intake, notification, census).

  • Coordinate with hospitals, clinics, facilities, and clinical teams to ensure timely service delivery.

  • Prepare and triage documents for Clinical Coverage Review.

  • Handle and resolve member/provider inquiries within defined SLAs.

  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and protect PHI at all times.

  • Perform other clinic administrative duties as assigned.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher).

  • 2+ years of customer service experience in healthcare, including prior authorizations and referrals.

  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.

  • Strong communication, telephone etiquette, multi‑tasking, and deadline management skills.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and commitment to confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare insurance, hospital/physician office/medical clinic settings, or call centers.

  • Eclinical platform experience; clerical/administrative support background.

  • Working knowledge of ICD‑9 and CPT codes.

  • Bilingual Polish/English is an advantage.
