Job Overview

A highly motivated scientist is sought to join the Protein Sciences Analytical Team. This position will contribute to various Discovery Research Therapeutic Areas (TAs) and Projects, focusing on analytical and functional characterization of biologics and biopharmaceutical products, including complex protein antigens, monoclonal antibodies, multi-specifics, and other antibody-like biologics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct mass spectrometry analyses for comprehensive characterization of biologics and biotherapeutics, including intact, reduced, subunit, and peptide mapping approaches.
  • Perform regular analytical assessments using methods like Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Reverse Phase Liquid Chromatography (RPLC), Capillary Electrophoresis (CE), and automation technologies.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment through routine maintenance and troubleshoot experimental challenges.
  • Evaluate, document, and report experimental data, formulate conclusions, and design subsequent experiments.
  • Document laboratory activities in Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN) following best practices.
  • Collaborate with other scientists and departments to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Contribute insights and present findings to colleagues and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry with over 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on expertise with mass spectrometry platforms, including Orbitrap and Q-ToF, and proficiency in MS workflows for protein characterization.
  • Analytical proficiency in chromatographic and capillary electrophoresis techniques.
  • Familiarity with biophysical and structural methods, such as Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF), HDX-MS, and X-ray crystallography is a plus.
  • Experience working with biologics, monoclonal antibodies, or protein therapeutics is a plus.
  • Goal-oriented, team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
