Job Overview
Piedmont Medical Care Corp is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support its Weight Management and Bariatric Medicine services. This role provides essential clinical assistance under the supervision of physicians, advanced practice providers, and registered nurses. The position aligns with established clinical guidelines to ensure high-quality patient care within a specialized metabolic and bariatric setting.
Key Responsibilities
Perform a range of patient care activities following clinical standards and organizational protocols
Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and patient procedures
Support patient intake, vital signs, documentation, and workflow coordination
Maintain clinical areas, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness and safety
Contribute to patient education and follow-up processes as directed
Uphold best practices in bariatric and weight management care delivery
Required Education
High school diploma or GED
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
OR
Completion of a Nursing Assistant program
OR
In lieu of formal education, one (1) year of medical assistant or related clinical experience
Required Experience
No experience required if a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program has been completed
Without formal training, minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in a medical assistant or related role is required
Licensure & Certification Requirements
No state licensure required
BLS certification required
Certification from AAMA or another recognized medical assistant certifying body is required
Additional Qualifications
Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a multidisciplinary bariatric care environment
Commitment to patient-centered service and clinic quality standards
