Position Overview

The CDE, Data Reporting & Analytics Lead (Senior Lead Clinical Data Science Programmer) plays a pivotal role in leading the design, development, and implementation of data science programming and analytics solutions for global clinical trials.

This position combines technical expertise, leadership, and strategic oversight to ensure high-quality data analysis, reporting accuracy, and process innovation that supports evidence-based clinical decisions.


Key Responsibilities

Data Science & Programming Leadership

  • Lead the design, development, validation, and implementation of programming solutions for clinical data integration, statistical analysis, and reporting.

  • Oversee end-to-end programming activities, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Apply programming languages such as SAS, R, and Python to support data analysis, automation, and visualization efforts.

Team Management & Collaboration

  • Manage, mentor, and guide a team of Clinical Data Programmers, ensuring adherence to best practices and project timelines.

  • Partner with clinical research, biostatistics, and regulatory teams to define data requirements and develop programming specifications.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive quality, innovation, and consistency in all programming deliverables.

Data Quality & Insights

  • Lead data validation, verification, and quality assurance processes to ensure reliability and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.

  • Use advanced statistical techniques and visualization tools to analyze complex datasets and extract actionable insights.

  • Drive innovation in data reporting and analytics, integrating automation and AI/ML where applicable.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and clinical research.

  • Recommend and implement innovative process improvements to enhance data analysis efficiency and reporting accuracy.


Experience Level

  • Required: Minimum 8–12 years of experience in clinical data programming, analytics, or data science within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industry.

  • Leadership Experience: At least 3–5 years in a team leadership or data management role, overseeing programming teams and global deliverables.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Proficient in SAS, R, and/or Python for data analysis and reporting.

    • Strong understanding of clinical data standards (CDISC, SDTM, ADaM) and global submission requirements.

    • Experience with data visualization, automation tools, and advanced analytics.

  • Preferred: Exposure to machine learning applications, AI-driven data modeling, or global data integration projects.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

  • Advanced certifications in data programming, analytics, or clinical data science are advantageous.

  • Proven ability to develop, lead, and execute data science solutions supporting clinical research objectives.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey insights effectively to diverse stakeholders.
