The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a driven sales business leader who designs a customized customer experience tailored to the needs of each account and Health Care Provider (HCP). Acting as the primary Point of Contact (PoC) in our customer-centric approach, the TAS engages with clients to identify mutual priorities and address their needs by problem-solving and leveraging Novartis resources to enhance patient outcomes. The TAS possesses expertise in clinical selling, account selling, access navigation, problem-solving, team orchestration/collaboration, and omni-channel engagement.

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pinpoint mutual priorities and utilize insights across the account to formulate a strategic territory business plan that enhances product demand and addresses key partner and patient needs.

  • Encourage clinical discussions that motivate customers to advocate for patients and involve the full account team to overcome barriers.

  • Apply expertise in market trends, competitor activity, and cross-functional strategies to foresee and manage opportunities and challenges.

  • Conduct planning meetings with stakeholders to solve complex issues and ensure all customer requirements are fulfilled through collaboration.

  • Analyze territory market data and trends to drive engagement through both virtual and live interactions.

  • Leverage omni-channel strategies to fully utilize Novartis capabilities for personalized customer engagement.

  • Collaborate with regional colleagues, field staff, and home-office teams to proactively meet customer needs and deliver access support.

  • Provide timely assistance by collaborating with Patient Specialty Services (PSS) to resolve customer requirements.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.

  • 2+ years’ experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or a similarly complex sales role within the last 5 years.

  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions, communicate clinical details effectively, consistently achieve high performance, and navigate large accounts and key customer segments.

  • Strong analytical skills to prioritize and use data to solve problems and satisfy key customers while demonstrating ethical leadership and compliance.

  • Must reside within territory or within 50 miles of the territory border; travel requirement of 60–80% across a broad geography.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience across therapeutic groups, disease states, account management, and new product launches.

  • Broad understanding of patient services, market access, buy and bill processes, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement, and medical sales.

Leveling Guidelines:

  • Territory Account Associate: 4+ years of US Military service in a leadership role or no prior sales experience.

  • Territory Account Specialist: 2+ years’ specialty pharma/biotech/similar complex sales experience.

  • Senior Territory Account Specialist: 5+ years’ specialty pharma/biotech/similar complex sales experience.

  • Executive Territory Account Specialist: 10+ years’ specialty pharma/biotech/similar complex sales experience.

Driving Requirement:
Driving is fundamental to this role. A fully valid, unrestricted driver’s license is required. Accommodations for medical restrictions may be provided.

Compensation and Benefits Summary:

  • Territory Account Associate: $77,000 - $143,000/year

  • Territory Account Specialist: $93,800 - $174,200/year

  • Senior Territory Account Specialist: $114,100 - $211,900/year

  • Executive Territory Account Specialist: $126,000 - $234,000/year

Compensation may include sign-on bonuses, restricted stock units, discretionary awards, and a full range of benefits, including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits. Salary and total compensation may vary depending on location, skills, experience, and market conditions. Employment is at-will.

Training:
Initial training required; limited to 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week.
