Job Overview

Planet Pharma is looking for a Biologist II to perform scientific research and experimental tasks in the field of biologics, including screening recombinant proteins, antibodies, and other therapeutic molecules. The selected candidate will be involved in various assays, cell culture maintenance, and data analysis to support the understanding of drug and target biology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on scientific research involving the screening of recombinant tool and therapeutic proteins, including antigens, antibodies, and biologics molecules.
  • Conduct biological and biochemical assays such as Flow Cytometry, ELISA, and WES to characterize biologics molecules.
  • Perform functional assays to generate data and enhance understanding of drug and target biology.
  • Culture and maintain mammalian cell lines (both adherent and suspension) for biological and functional assays.
  • Summarize, graph, and accurately record experimental data. Present findings as needed.
  • Collaborate with scientists in the Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine organization and project teams.
  • Work creatively and adaptively to contribute to team goals in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS or MS in Molecular and Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related biological science.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in scientific research.
  • Skills:
    • Strong hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, and assays such as Flow Cytometry, ELISA, and WES (Western blot).
    • Ability to work independently and anticipate problems while proposing solutions.
    • Collaborative teamwork and adaptability in an intellectually challenging environment.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of aging biology, age-related diseases, cancer biology, and biologics.
