Position Summary

The Associate/Sr. Associate - Patient Engagement in Engagement & Diversity Delivery is responsible for supporting the identification and delivery of innovative strategies to enhance recruitment and retention of diverse patient populations in clinical trials. This role aims to accelerate trial enrollment and improve retention across therapeutic programs. You will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure that these strategies are effective, efficient, and meet the recruitment needs.

The position requires collaboration across the Patient Engagement organization, clinical capabilities, and Clinical Design Delivery & Analytics (CDDA) to drive best practices and meet key performance indicators. You will also oversee financial aspects of the strategy to ensure that resources are effectively allocated.


Primary Responsibilities

Technical Acumen:

  • Execute and operationalize clinical trial recruitment and retention strategies for diverse patient populations across various therapeutic areas, making data-driven decisions to optimize delivery.
  • Collaborate with clinical capabilities and CDDA to create and measure diversity strategies aimed at improving access to clinical trials.
  • Partner with Engagement & Diversity Capabilities Management to develop key performance indicators for third-party vendor and service provider performance.
  • Ensure the creation of culturally sensitive and health-literate materials to support recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Expand relationships with stakeholders to enhance the enrollment and retention of diverse patient populations.

Enterprise Leadership:

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying patient/caregiver and investigator challenges and working internally to address these challenges.
  • Lead cross-functional communications to ensure shared understanding and alignment on recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Leverage data and trends to improve the design and delivery of future studies and programs.
  • Engage with external vendors and industry representatives to maintain a competitive edge in recruitment strategies.

Cultural Sensitivity & Innovation:

  • Integrate cultural understanding into strategy delivery for successful clinical trial execution.
  • Apply innovative solutions and best practices in real time to improve clinical trial access for underrepresented patient populations.
  • Foster a culture of partnership and shared learning to ensure alignment and operational efficiency across teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or health-related field, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical trials or drug development.

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience with project management tools and processes.
  • Proven ability to influence and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and critical thinking abilities.
  • Prior experience managing complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Strong understanding of the clinical drug development process.
  • Experience working with clinical research investigators and representatives.

Other Skills:

  • Ability to anticipate and resolve operational or business issues effectively.
  • Strong skills in leading and influencing teams to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to drive innovative solutions for increasing trial access for diverse populations.
  • Minimal travel required (<10%).
