Job Purpose

The Associate/Senior Associate role in Global Scientific Communications focuses on preparing high-quality scientific publications, including clinical and health-outcome abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and presentations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce clear, accurate, and impactful scientific content for various stakeholders, including the scientific community, regulators, healthcare professionals, and patients.


Key Responsibilities

1. Content Strategy & Document Preparation

  • Develop content strategies for scientific publications by gathering and evaluating data from multiple sources.
  • Plan, write, edit, and finalize scientific documents (e.g., abstracts, posters, manuscripts) for peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Conduct kickoff meetings with authoring teams to ensure alignment and understanding of content.
  • Build scientific rationales for complex documents, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all related materials.
  • Coordinate expert reviews and integrate feedback to refine and finalize documents.
  • Ensure documents are scientifically balanced, accurate, and concise.

2. Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead writing projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality scientific content.
  • Develop project timelines and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Communicate project status, mitigate risks, and escalate issues as necessary to ensure smooth document completion.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and vendors.

3. Knowledge & Skills Development

  • Stay updated on therapeutic area knowledge, disease states, and compounds for assigned projects.
  • Maintain and enhance scientific communication skills to meet evolving audience needs.
  • Keep abreast of publication guidelines and best practices.
  • Engage in publication planning and contribute to integrated planning processes.

4. Knowledge Sharing & Mentorship

  • Provide coaching and technical guidance to team members.
  • Share best practices and contribute to process improvements.
  • Support the development of publication tools, databases, and knowledge-sharing platforms.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, health, communications, health outcomes, or public health-related field.
  • Proven experience in writing scientific publications, including clinical and health-outcomes documents.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Successful completion of a writing exercise (required as part of the candidate evaluation process).

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MA, MBBS) in a related field (e.g., health economics, epidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, or other relevant disciplines).
  • Extensive experience in writing, reviewing, and publishing scientific materials.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical development, clinical trial processes, and health outcomes research.
  • Ability to critically appraise scientific literature and raw data.
  • Demonstrated project management and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in using office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation tools).
