Role Summary
The Associate Scientist will support laboratory-scale chemical synthesis, process optimization, and technology transfer activities. The role involves experimental execution, data interpretation, process improvement, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support scalable and robust API and intermediate production processes.

Key Responsibilities

Experimental Execution & Process Support

  • Plan and perform laboratory experiments according to standard procedures.

  • Interpret experimental results and propose process improvements for synthesis of intermediates, APIs, and impurities.

  • Conduct literature searches to identify alternative, safe, cost-effective, and robust synthetic routes.

  • Support technology transfer (KGL/TT/MS&T) and scale-up activities in the manufacturing plant.

  • Provide input to resolve process challenges and suggest modifications for scalability.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare project reports, track progress, and maintain accurate laboratory records.

  • Adhere to non-GMP/cGMP and EHS guidelines in all laboratory activities.

  • Demonstrate strong time management and maintain good documentation practices.

Collaboration & Training

  • Coordinate with process, analytical, and manufacturing teams to support ongoing projects.

  • Participate in team training and knowledge-sharing sessions to maintain compliance and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • M.Sc. in Chemistry or a related discipline.

  • 1–2 years of industrial experience in chemical synthesis, laboratory-scale reactions, or pharmaceutical R&D.

  • Hands-on experience in process optimization, data documentation, and adherence to EHS and non-GMP/cGMP procedures.

  • Exposure to route scouting, impurity handling, or scale-up support is advantageous.

  • Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
