Position Description:
The Copyeditor in Medical Affairs Quality reviews and copyedits U.S. medical (non-promotional) and promotional materials across various therapeutic areas and brands. The role ensures adherence to Customer Information Quality (CIQ) and/or Medical Content Approval (MCA) requirements and process standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Copyedit promotional and medical (non-promotional) materials in line with CIQ and MCA requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Medical) during content review and approval.

  • Validate content alignment with CIQ and MCA standards, ensuring consistency.

  • Review materials against style guides, templates, and checklists.

  • Proofread or copyedit deliverables independently, maintaining quality standards.

  • Review language, grammar, style, spelling, and consistency for readability.

  • Identify and correct flaws in logic and flow.

  • Review reference lists for compliance with AMA Manual of Style/brand style.

  • Use tools such as Veeva Vault, Wrike, and MS Project effectively.

  • Ensure quality, speed, value, and compliance throughout the review process.

  • Support and adhere to organizational project management best practices.

  • Track and manage deviations in coordination with CIQ/MCA Lead and Operations teams.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience as an editor, copyeditor, or proofreader of promotional and medical content for publishing, marketing, communications, advertising agencies, or the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Familiarity with AMA Manual of Style/Chicago Manual of Style.

  • Strong understanding of scientific/medical terminologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a diverse team.

Additional Preferences:

  • Knowledge of US CIQ/MCA framework, procedures, and tools (Veeva Vault, Wrike, MS Project).

  • Experience reviewing Medical Affairs communication deliverables (slide decks, HCP/patient materials).

  • Knowledge in clinical pharmacology or therapeutic areas such as neuroscience, oncology, cardiovascular, immunology, or endocrinology.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific, health, communications, or related field.
