Associate Medical Coder – Bangalore (0–1 Year Experience)

Job Summary

We are looking for a certified Associate Medical Coder to join our healthcare operations team in Bangalore. The role involves accurately assigning ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes for inpatient and outpatient records, ensuring compliance with coding standards, and supporting hospital reimbursement processes. Certified freshers or candidates with up to 1 year of coding experience are encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform coding of inpatient and/or outpatient medical records for accurate indexing of medical information.

  • Assign ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes with at least 95% accuracy in code selection and sequencing.

  • Abstract and validate medical records consistently.

  • Meet departmental productivity and coding entry standards.

  • Participate in coding meetings and education sessions to maintain accuracy and industry compliance.

  • Ensure timely completion of tasks while minimizing non-essential interruptions.

  • Collaborate with hospital and departmental staff for efficient coding operations.

  • Attend conference calls to provide coding-related insights when required.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate in any discipline.

  • Certified medical coder through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC – any one required).

  • 0 to 1 year of medical coding experience (certified freshers also eligible).

  • Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding systems.

  • Good communication, attention to detail, and ability to work under deadlines.

  • Must provide valid coding certification ID during interview or offer process.
