🧪 Position Overview

The Associate Medical Advisor – Oncology will support the Hematology portfolio and collaborate cross-functionally to develop and execute strategic, innovative medical plans. This role focuses on:

  • Enabling scientific support across clinical, educational, and commercial needs.

  • Driving stakeholder engagement with KOLs, HCPs, and allied healthcare professionals.

  • Developing data generation strategies, publications, and medical training initiatives.

Reporting to: Senior Medical Advisor – Haematology, Janssen India
Travel Required: 20–30% (stakeholder interaction and conferences)


🧭 Key Responsibilities

🎯 Medical Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement medical affairs strategy and tactical plans for assigned oncology portfolio.

  • Align local strategy with regional and global MAF objectives.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Regulatory, Market Access, Medical Education, and Clinical Operations.

  • Provide medical input during brand planning and strategic meetings.

  • Review and ensure compliance of promotional and disease education materials.

🧬 Data Generation & Scientific Leadership

  • Develop and manage evidence generation plans to fill medical data gaps.

  • Contribute to the development and review of clinical trial designs and investigator-initiated studies.

  • Support regulatory and safety teams in addressing scientific and clinical concerns.

🧠 KOL & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong scientific relationships with:

    • Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)

    • Specialists and healthcare professionals

    • Professional societies and peak bodies

  • Drive disease awareness, education initiatives, and product understanding.

  • Respond to clinical inquiries and facilitate access to products (e.g., for named patient programs).

👩‍⚕️ Internal Collaboration & Training

  • Work closely with:

    • Marketing & Market Access teams

    • Medical Education & Training departments

  • Ensure internal stakeholders are scientifically trained on therapeutic areas and brand positioning.

  • Support development of educational content, digital materials, and slide decks.


📚 Qualifications

🎓 Education

  • MD (Doctor of Medicine) in Pharmacology or any Medical Specialty

🧳 Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry

  • Hands-on exposure to medical affairs, clinical trial operations, or drug safety is desirable

🧠 Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding of:

    • Medical affairs roles and responsibilities

    • Local regulatory environment and drug promotion code

    • Clinical trial processes and scientific publication standards

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Strategic thinking and ethical, patient-centric mindset
