🔬 Role Summary

As an Associate Director, Pharmacometrician at Pfizer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing drug development through quantitative modeling and simulation. Your expertise will inform dosing strategies, study designs, and regulatory submissions, directly impacting the efficacy and safety of therapies reaching patients.


🧠 Key Responsibilities

  • Model-Informed Drug Development (MIDD): Develop and implement MIDD plans across various projects and therapeutic areas to optimize study designs and inform drug development strategies.

  • Quantitative Analysis: Conduct analyses integrating pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), patient characteristics, and disease states to optimize dosing regimens and study designs.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including clinical pharmacologists, clinicians, statisticians, and other scientists, to create MIDD plans assessing drug efficacy, safety, and commercial viability.

  • Regulatory Contributions: Prepare formal presentations and written reports to Pfizer standards, and contribute to regulatory documents such as summary documents, briefing books, and regulatory responses.

  • Tool and Process Development: Support and/or develop pharmacometrics tools, automation workflows, software, and related business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on literature, government guidelines, and internal guidance related to pharmacometrics and MIDD, and contribute to the development or improvement of tools, processes, and methodologies.


🎓 Basic Qualifications

  • Education: PhD or equivalent degree with strong quantitative skills in pharmacometrics, pharmacokinetics, mechanistic modeling/systems pharmacology, statistics, or a related field.

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a quantitative field, with expertise in analysis and programming software such as Nonmem and R.

  • Skills: Proficiency in pharmacometric analyses, strong communication skills (both written and oral), and a solid understanding of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and statistical principles.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, and guide colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.Monster+1Remote Rocketship+1


🌟 Preferred Qualifications

  • Software Proficiency: Experience with PsN, Monolix, nlmixr2, Pumas, MATLAB, Stan, or other relevant software.

  • Alternative Backgrounds: Candidates from disciplines such as mathematics, engineering, systems biology, or medicine are encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate relevant experience and expertise.

  • Industry Experience: Experience in clinical trial simulation, machine learning, biostatistics, Bayesian methods, or literature meta-analyses/model-based meta-analyses is advantageous.Pfizer+1

  • Base Salary: $135,100 – $225,100 annually.

  • Bonus: Eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary.
