Job Title: Manufacturing and Engineering Manager


Primary Objective:

To set goals, monitor performance, and lead the Manufacturing and Engineering departments to ensure optimal production processes, quality standards, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with various teams to drive performance, efficiency, and adherence to company policies and procedures.


Goals:

  1. Set and Monitor Goals:

    • Establish goals and targets for the Manufacturing and Engineering departments.
    • Utilize KPIs to monitor, evaluate, and improve departmental performance.
  2. Collaboration:

    • Interface with the Site Director as a supportive member of the Abbott Nutrition manufacturing management team.
    • Work closely with the SQA (Supplier Quality Assurance) team and Supply Chain teams to develop supplier resilience.
    • Promote good communication and cooperation across departments, fostering knowledge sharing and an open exchange of ideas.
  3. Human Resources:

    • Collaborate with Human Resources for the recruitment and selection of personnel in compliance with company policies and local legislation.
    • Ensure implementation of performance reviews, growth plans, and continuous development for team members.
  4. Best Practices & Audits:

    • Provide leadership on best practice initiatives, including Class A, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and ISO systems.
    • Support preparations for internal finance, quality, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) audits, and external audits to ensure successful results.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management:

    • Build and maintain healthy relationships within the Manufacturing and Engineering departments.
    • Encourage open communication and provide feedback to peers and internal customers.
  2. Strategic Thinking & Decision Making:

    • Develop a deep understanding of the operations and challenges within Manufacturing and Engineering.
    • Make informed decisions to address complex operational issues.
  3. Operations Leadership:

    • Lead teams in addressing operational challenges and ensuring smooth production processes.
    • Guide teams on strategic initiatives and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications:

    • Lean/Six Sigma credentials (e.g., Green Belt/Black Belt) are advantageous.
  • Experience:

    • At least 15 years of experience in operations positions within a manufacturing environment.
    • At least 5 years of experience in senior operations management.
  • Skills:

    • Strong grasp of manufacturing finance processes.
    • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
    • Ability to organize, motivate, and develop teams.
    • Strong commitment to compliance with policies and industry standards.
