Position Overview:
The Associate Director - CTF Emerging Technology PM will serve as the subject matter expert in clinical systems and digital health technologies supporting clinical development. This role will focus on the implementation of emerging technologies, supporting the technology support model, and enhancing system capabilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define, implement, and optimize systems and strategies that support clinical research. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical trial systems, project management, and emerging technologies, as well as experience driving organizational change.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Information Systems Expertise

  • Understand business strategies, data flow, and processes as they relate to clinical development.
  • Serve as a domain expert to ensure optimal data, process, and technology integration across clinical information systems.
  • Support internal audits and external inspections.
  • Identify functional capability gaps early and manage expectations to avoid delays.
  • Introduce efficiencies into the technical landscape to optimize operations.

Project Management

  • Define, lead, and execute implementation plans for procedural requirements and technology strategies.
  • Develop Fit For Purpose plans and research proposed technologies.
  • Introduce best practices into clinical research data flow and process.
  • Conduct shared learning sessions and contribute to cross-functional discussions.
  • Establish and monitor critical success factors for projects and ensure progress towards clear decision-making criteria.
  • Identify and communicate customer needs and requirements related to system performance and improvements.
  • Lead organizational change and communication planning, training initiatives, and vendor management.

Partnership and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with process owners, leadership, IT, Quality, and vendors to ensure efficient system usage across the portfolio.
  • Actively drive shared learning across teams and support customer experience improvements.
  • Manage project risks, progress reporting, and system metrics, providing leadership with key updates.
  • Partner with vendors to enhance efficiencies and improve outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, IT, or a health-related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5 – 8 years of experience, with at least 3 years in clinical data management, medical, clinical drug development, or clinical information flow.
  • Digital and technical literacy, with experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Fluency in GCP and Clinical Trial Regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact effectively with leadership and team members.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues.
  • Proven experience in leading large projects and influencing cross-functional teams.

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience with clinical development systems and emerging technologies supporting clinical research.
  • Knowledge of project management and organizational change, especially with vendors and external parties.
  • Strong business insight and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and communicate across functional boundaries.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements governing clinical development.
