Job Summary
The Associate Director – Content Operations plays a critical role within the CAST team, focused on content, commercial operations, and marketing. This individual will provide leadership and direction to content development, ensuring that all projects and campaigns align with brand strategies. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality content for healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients, focusing on both written and visual content. They are responsible for mentoring copywriters, overseeing creative campaigns, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Operations: Lead the creation of compelling copy and concepts, ensuring messaging and tone align with business needs. Collaborate with teams to redefine briefs and craft content for diverse target audiences.

  • Collaboration with US Marketing Teams: Develop messaging inspired by master content while sourcing credible information to craft compelling copy. Lead copy discussions and oversee submissions for Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) reviews.

  • Creative Execution: Produce copy for digital and print materials, including iPad-based selling aids, websites, brochures, emails, and social media. Manage timelines and processes to ensure efficient execution.

  • Quality Control: Provide feedback to the team, ensuring the highest scientific and grammatical standards are met across all medical education and marketing materials. Ensure content is accurate, relevant, and of high quality.

  • Mentoring and Leadership: Oversee and mentor copywriters to maintain high-quality output and ensure deliverables meet Novartis standards. Guide and support the team through complex projects and initiatives.

  • Brand Knowledge: Become a product information expert, ensuring that all content aligns with brand strategies and complies with regulatory standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, communication, marketing, or related fields. Advanced degree in pharma or medical sciences is a plus.

  • Experience:

    • 12-15 years of experience in healthcare advertising and writing promotional pharmaceutical content.

    • Proven experience in ideation, creative execution, and managing complex content projects.

    • Strong portfolio of written content, including digital, print, and promotional materials.

    • Experience in healthcare marketing, with an understanding of the therapeutic areas and brands across Novartis.

Desirable Requirements

  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to adapt copy for various channels and formats (print, digital, video, social).

  • Ability to manage concurrent projects and deliver work from concept through completion.

  • Knowledge of AMA style and experience with MLR submissions.

  • Solid understanding of medical references and the ability to use them in marketing materials.
