Job Overview:

The Associate Data Team Lead will manage the end-to-end delivery of data management services for single or multi-service projects with minimal guidance, ensuring timely and quality deliverables within budget and customer expectations. The role involves providing comprehensive data management expertise to Clinical Data Management (CDM) teams and ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), applicable regulations, SOPs, and CDM guidelines. The role also includes leadership responsibilities in project planning, execution, financial management, communication, and milestone delivery.


Essential Functions:

Client & Service Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding data management deliverables.

  • Provide project management expertise to customer data managers, key decision makers, and internal team members.

  • Facilitate process improvements, issue escalation, workload projections, and technical expertise with minimal guidance.

  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure open communication to meet contractual obligations.

Team Collaboration & Data Management Support:

  • Collaborate with Data Operations Coordinator (DOC) and Data Operations team to ensure project milestones are met.

  • Support service delivery with technical expertise, helping with unresolved data issues.

  • Create, review, and sign off on Data Management Plan (DMP) documents with guidance.

  • Implement proactive quality management plans and ensure compliance with the contract/SOW.

  • Identify and resolve service and quality issues, continuously looking for opportunities for task efficiency and quality improvements.

Financial Management & Business Development:

  • Manage SOW/budget, ensuring timelines and deliverables meet expectations.

  • Participate in the project review process and support financial tracking, revenue recognition, and invoicing.

  • Identify out-of-scope tasks and ensure timely completion of change orders.

  • Assist in the RFP process, including pricing reviews and bid defense participation.

Continuous Improvement & Leadership:

  • Provide input on DM process improvements and new technology or tool implementations.

  • Participate in global/local best practice teams.

  • Assist in the development of new tools and technologies for better service delivery.


Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in health, clinical, biological, or mathematical sciences, or related field.

  • Experience:

    • 1-2 years of direct Data Management experience, including a minimum of 6 months as a CDM project lead (preferred).

    • Proven competence in managing study delivery through full DM life-cycle, particularly in Phase III studies.

    • Comprehensive understanding of clinical drug development processes and demonstrated data management skills.

  • Skills & Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and applicable regulatory guidelines.

    • Ability to perform SAE reconciliation, external data vendor reconciliation, and management of local laboratory data.

    • Familiarity with medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, and/or physiology.

    • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

    • Ability to work independently and establish effective relationships with coworkers, managers, and customers.
