Job Overview:

IQVIA is seeking an Associate Manager, Safety Operations Team to manage Safety staff responsible for delivering services in Safety Operations. The role involves working closely with senior management to achieve local and global deliverables and metrics. The position may also contribute to global initiatives and change management processes.


Essential Functions:

  • Operational Support:

    • Implement and support operational decisions as directed by senior management.

    • Contribute to global initiatives, such as:

      • Change Management

      • Subject Matter Expert (SME) Committees

      • SOP Review Committees

      • Retention, engagement, training, and process improvements.

  • Employee Engagement & Communication:

    • Assist in implementing actions to measure and improve employee engagement.

    • Maintain regular communication with direct reports to ensure a supportive working environment.

  • Staff Supervision & Management:

    • Supervise Safety Operations staff, including planning, assigning, and directing work.

    • Conduct performance appraisals, provide professional development guidance, and handle rewards/disciplinary actions.

    • Address employee relations issues, resolve problems, and manage staff absences.

    • Approve actions on human resources matters, including staff hiring and terminations.

  • Training & Development:

    • Assist with staff training, professional development, and career growth.

    • Ensure direct reports are cross-trained across Safety service offerings.

    • Monitor and develop training plans to address identified training and development needs.

  • Project Management & Resource Allocation:

    • Work closely with operations managers to address problem areas, project work scheduling, and projected workloads.

    • Monitor, assess, and report staff utilization and implement solutions to address poor utilization.

    • Lead direct reports in continuous improvement of work processes and infrastructure.

  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that project processes and department deliverables meet quality, financial, and productivity targets.

    • Monitor project work to ensure compliance with SOPs, ICH/FDA regulations, work instructions, and client expectations.

    • Ensure staff are trained and following GCPs, FDA, ICH guidelines, and project instructions.

  • Leadership & Change Management:

    • Support or lead change management initiatives.

    • Effectively manage people issues and ensure compliance with people practices and processes.

    • Collaborate constructively within a matrix framework to achieve project and customer deliverables.

  • Other Responsibilities:

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Ensure 100% compliance towards people practices and processes.


Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific, healthcare, or allied life sciences discipline.

    • Up to 6 years of relevant experience, including:

      • Up to 4 years of Pharmacovigilance (PV) experience.

      • Up to 2 years of people management experience.

  • Skills & Expertise:

    • Sound knowledge of Safety service lines and willingness to enhance knowledge across service lines.

    • Strong leadership, motivational, and influencing skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.

    • Proficiency in mentoring and coaching.

    • Strong presentation, report writing, and customer focus skills.

    • Ability to achieve results through communication and facilitation in a matrix service delivery environment.

    • Sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

    • Effective relationship-building with coworkers, managers, and clients.

    • Flexibility to operate in shifts and occasional travel, as required.
