Position Overview:

The Senior Director - Nuclear Medicine Physician/Radiologist will play a key role within the medical team, supporting the development, pre-launch, and launch activities for PET diagnostics, imaging, and biomarkers. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with imaging, neuroscience, oncology, and clinical teams to integrate novel imaging and biomarker methods into clinical strategies.

This position requires a highly experienced and trained physician with a deep understanding of clinical trials, imaging, and biomarkers. The Senior Director will be responsible for ensuring the integration of advanced imaging techniques to support the clinical development, registration, and commercialization of diagnostic products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Trial Support:

    • Collaborate with clinical research teams to design, conduct, and report clinical trials for diagnostic imaging products.
    • Analyze clinical findings to support decisions regarding the safety and efficacy of imaging methods and biomarkers.
    • Provide expert interpretation of imaging scans obtained during clinical trials.
    • Assist in the design and approval of clinical studies, including Phase 1-3 and post-market clinical trials focused on imaging and biomarkers.
  • Collaboration with Internal and External Teams:

    • Work with Imaging Research and Development teams to provide imaging analysis expertise and recommendations.
    • Partner with clinical teams across imaging, neuroscience, oncology, and other relevant departments to align strategies for clinical trials.
    • Engage with scientific and educational organizations involved in clinical imaging and biomarker research.
    • Collaborate on the development of scientific materials, including slide decks, publications (abstracts, posters, manuscripts), and regulatory submissions.
  • Scientific and Medical Leadership:

    • Stay informed about new developments in diagnostic imaging technology and biomarker applications to enhance clinical strategies.
    • Serve as a scientific resource for study teams, investigators, and clinical operations personnel, providing guidance on clinical imaging procedures and issues.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards throughout clinical trials.
    • Address any scientific information needs and provide clear communication on medical issues during clinical studies.
  • Patient Safety and Data Monitoring:

    • Monitor patient safety during clinical trials, tracking adverse events and ensuring alignment with patient safety protocols.
    • Contribute to the ongoing safety review process and resolve any issues related to patient safety during studies.
  • Strategic Influence and Business Alignment:

    • Contribute to the alignment of global and business unit clinical strategies for diagnostic imaging products.
    • Provide strategic recommendations on the future use and evolution of imaging technologies in clinical trials.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to optimize imaging technologies and biomarker methodologies for use in clinical development.
  • Travel:

    • Domestic and international travel is estimated to be 30% of the role’s responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements:
    • MD/DO or equivalent medical degree with at least 3 years of experience post-training in a relevant specialty or subspecialty.
    • For US-trained physicians: Board eligibility or certification is required.
    • For non-US-trained physicians: Completion of education and training at a medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialization:

    • Medical residency/fellowship in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, or Oncology.
    • Experience in drug development processes and clinical trials related to imaging and biomarkers.
  • Skills and Expertise:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement clinical strategies in a collaborative environment.
    • Expertise in clinical research, medical imaging technologies, and regulatory compliance.
