Role Overview

Join Pediatric Associates, a leader in pediatric care since 1955, as an X-Ray Lab Technician. This role involves performing diagnostic medical x-rays, lab testing procedures, and phlebotomy to ensure accurate patient assessments.

Key Responsibilities

📸 Radiology & X-Ray

  • Conduct diagnostic medical x-rays following Pediatric Associates' protocols.
  • Ensure proper radiology reporting, including critical findings.

🧪 Laboratory Testing & Phlebotomy

  • Perform tests in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology, Microbiology, and Spirometry.
  • Report accurate lab results and alert clinicians of critical values.
  • Conduct phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

📊 Quality Control & Compliance

  • Maintain and document lab quality control checks (daily/weekly/monthly).
  • Follow infection control, universal precautions, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain inventory of lab supplies.

👩‍⚕️ Patient-Facing Role

  • Provide excellent patient care and communication.
  • Assess emergency situations and respond appropriately.

Qualifications & Skills

🎓 Education & Certification:

  • Associate degree required.
  • Graduation from a Radiology program (RT or BMO).
  • Active Florida Department of Health License (RT or BMO).
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or Florida Basic Machine Operator License.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Phlebotomy experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license required upon hire.

💡 Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of x-ray imaging & processing.
  • Proficiency in laboratory procedures & quality control.
  • Ability to assess emergency situations and respond accordingly.
  • Excellent communication & organizational skills.

📌 Experience:

  • 1 year of x-ray experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Lab procedures & phlebotomy experience preferred.
