This position is for a Radiologic Technologist with additional laboratory duties at Pediatric Associates, a well-established healthcare provider with a focus on pediatric care. The role is multifaceted, combining diagnostic x-ray responsibilities with laboratory testing and phlebotomy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • X-ray Services: Perform diagnostic medical x-rays, adhering to established techniques for pediatric patients. Report findings, including critical or positive results, to healthcare clinicians.
  • Laboratory Testing: Conduct laboratory tests in various areas (Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology, Microbiology, and Spirometry). Document and report results, ensuring accuracy and timely communication, particularly for critical values.
  • Quality Control: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly quality control checks on equipment and procedures. Maintain and stock lab supplies.
  • Phlebotomy: Perform phlebotomy tasks, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks for specimen collection.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree required; completion of an accredited Radiology program (RT or BMO).
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • CPR certification required.
    • Florida Department of Health License (RT or BMO), Certified Radiologic Technologist License from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Florida Department of Health Basic Machine Operators (BMO) License required.
    • Phlebotomy certification is required.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with x-rays in a healthcare setting; laboratory procedures and phlebotomy experience are preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in diagnostic x-ray techniques and processing.
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality control and universal safety precautions.
  • Skilled in phlebotomy and basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and healthcare providers.
  • Ability to assess and respond to emergencies appropriately.

Working Conditions:

  • Indoor setting with exposure to hazards, requiring good manual dexterity, vision, and the ability to wear PPE.
  • Some physical tasks such as lifting up to 10 lbs, squatting, and bending.

Performance Expectations:

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient data and comply with information security policies.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and prompt reporting of critical results.
