The Vice President, Safety Pharmacology & Science is responsible for the global leadership, strategy, organization, and management of Safety Pharmacology operations across multiple sites, including:

The role also oversees:
Immunology
Genetic Toxicology
In Vitro Technology
This position ensures high-quality scientific delivery, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, client satisfaction, and business growth across global teams.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
Lead and manage global Safety Pharmacology functions across multiple international locations.
Oversee Safety Pharmacology activities performed by Safety Assessment teams worldwide.
Provide strategic direction for Immunology, Genetic Toxicology, and In Vitro Technology groups.
Ensure efficient, high-quality scientific services for internal and external clients.
Partner with local leadership to align operational goals and scientific execution.
Scientific Leadership
Serve as a recognized industry expert in Safety Pharmacology.
Participate in scientific consortia, trade organizations, and industry working groups.
Contribute to scientific publications, regulatory discussions, and industry initiatives.
Support development of regulatory positions, including contributions related to ICH guidelines.
Drive innovation and scientific excellence across functional areas.
Business Development & Client Engagement
Collaborate with Business Development teams to strengthen client relationships.
Support scientific strategy discussions with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.
Represent the organization at industry conferences, meetings, and scientific forums.
Organizational Leadership
Lead and develop global scientific teams.
Foster collaboration within a highly matrixed organizational structure.
Drive performance, talent development, and succession planning.
Promote teamwork, integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
PhD in:
Safety Pharmacology
Pharmacology
Toxicology
Experience
15+ years of leadership experience within:
Pharmaceutical industry, or
CRO (Contract Research Organization) industry
