About GSK US Vaccines:
GSK’s US Vaccines business operates through local ecosystem teams to address the unique needs of customers in specific geographies. The Vaccine Ecosystem Lead (VEL) plays a pivotal role in guiding the local team, driving commercial performance, and developing talent.

The VEL reports to the Area Field Vice President (FVP) and is a key member of the Area Sales Leadership Team. This first-line sales leader role involves developing and leading a team of account managers and sales professionals to execute GSK’s vaccines strategy tailored to local customer needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and coach a team of Sales Specialists/Account Managers to achieve sales goals for GSK Vaccines products.

  • Collaborate with the FVP to set sales and profit targets for the ecosystem.

  • Participate in developing local ecosystem sales strategies, interpreting them for the geographic area.

  • Engage directly with key accounts, including strategy development, contract negotiation, implementation, and ongoing account servicing.

  • Act as a liaison between the Vaccines Division and other GSK sectors (Pharmaceuticals, Oncology, HIV, Medical Center Sales, etc.) to build consensus on strategies and tactics.

  • Identify market opportunities, validate customer needs, and support the launch and refinement of new products and services.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key executives and population-based decision-makers in all accounts.

  • Allocate resources effectively (financial and field staff) to meet business objectives and manage area expense budgets.

  • Evaluate and guide Sales Specialists/Account Managers on presentations and customer interactions.

  • Attract, develop, and retain high-performing team members through coaching, training, and career development support.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical experience.

  • 5+ years of account management experience.

  • 3+ years of people management and/or matrix leadership experience.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Willingness to travel 25–50% within South Central IL/Western IN (preferred to live in this territory).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of vaccines sales management experience.

  • Knowledge of the vaccines market, therapeutic areas, products, and business/clinical environment.

  • Strong track record of high performance and consistent results.

  • Business-to-business selling experience.

  • Experience in health systems and health systems selling.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Annual base salary: $171,000 – $285,000 (dependent on location, skills, experience, and market rate).

  • Eligibility for annual bonus and share-based long-term incentive programs.
