Job Summary
CoverSelf is hiring a Trainee Payment Integrity Analyst – Medical Coding/Denials for its Payment Integrity team in Bengaluru. This is an exciting opportunity for fresh graduates from life sciences, pharmacy, medical, or healthcare backgrounds to build a career in US healthcare claims analysis, medical coding, and denials management. The role involves configuring healthcare claims rules, interpreting medical policies, performing coding audits, and ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze healthcare coding, billing, and reimbursement guidelines to configure system logic.
Review contracts, policies, and federal/state regulations to determine edit requirements.
Translate regulatory policies into functional configuration specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for medical concept validation and implementation.
Troubleshoot configuration discrepancies and perform root cause analysis.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of medical coding edits for various claim types.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, payer payment policies, and CMS guidelines.
Utilize AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard, Claude) for medical content development and automation.
Ensure high-quality, accurate, and compliant system configuration.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Pharmacy (B.Pharm, M.Pharm, PharmD), Life Sciences (Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry), Medicine (MBBS, BDS, BPT, BAMS) or equivalent.
Preferred certifications: CPC, CPMA, COC, CIC, CPC-P, CCS (AAPC or AHIMA).
0–1 year of experience in medical coding, payment integrity, denials management, or healthcare claims processing.
Proficiency in CPT/HCPCS, ICD, Modifiers, DRG, PCS coding.
Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement policies and US payer guidelines.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and adaptability to new platforms.
Exposure to AI-based tools for content development is an added advantage.
