Job Overview

Piramal Pharma Solutions is hiring a Trainee – EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) for its Ennore, Tamil Nadu facility. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for fresh graduates and early-career professionals interested in environmental compliance, ETP/ZLD operations, hazardous waste management, sustainability, industrial safety, ISO compliance, and pharmaceutical environmental operations.

The selected candidate will support environmental health and safety initiatives, effluent treatment operations, regulatory compliance activities, sustainability documentation, audit preparedness, and plant environmental reporting.

This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a long-term career in EHS, environmental engineering, sustainability management, industrial compliance, and pharmaceutical plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

ETP / ZLD Operations Support

Support day-to-day operations of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems.
Monitor treatment plant performance and maintain operational records.
Verify effluent reception from production blocks and ensure compliance with treatment procedures.
Monitor laboratory reports related to ETP-ZLD operations.

Environmental Compliance & Documentation

Support documentation for environmental compliance programs and regulatory requirements.
Assist in preparation of:
- Water balance reports
- Monthly MIS reports
- Hazardous waste compliance documentation
- Environmental operational records
- New Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Maintain documentation aligned with internal and external compliance standards.

ISO Compliance & Audit Support

Support implementation of:
- ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System)
- ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System)
Assist in preparation of:
- HIRA documentation
- Aspect & Impact assessments
- Management programs
- Internal audit records
Support housekeeping readiness during internal and external audits.

Hazardous Waste Management

Coordinate hazardous waste disposal activities with approved vendors.
Support preparation of statutory environmental forms and documentation.
Ensure compliant handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste materials.
Prevent regulatory non-compliance in waste disposal operations.

Plant Safety & EHS Initiatives

Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and workplace safety observations.
Participate in EHS rounds, safety observations, and closure tracking.
Support implementation of plant-specific EHS objectives and improvement initiatives.
Contribute to sustainability and environmental improvement programs.

Regulatory & Administrative Support

Support environmental purchase requisitions for:
- ETP chemicals
- Laboratory chemicals
- Spare parts
Assist during regulatory authority inspections and site visits.
Support manpower coordination related to third-party plant operations where required.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have one of the following:

M.Sc in Environmental Science / Environment Management
OR
B.E / B.Tech in Environmental Engineering

Experience Requirements

0–1 year of experience in EHS, environmental management, sustainability operations, or industrial environmental compliance
Freshers with strong academic background are encouraged to apply
