About the Role

AstraZeneca is seeking a skilled Statistician to join its dynamic team in Bangalore. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to study-level statistical activities, including study setup, conduct, analysis, and reporting. Working under the guidance of experienced statisticians, you will tackle technical statistical projects that support the development of life-changing medicines.

As a Statistician, you will apply statistical expertise to design, analyze, and interpret studies, helping ensure high-quality data and actionable insights across preclinical, clinical, and medical affairs projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide statistical support for standard study designs and interpretations under expert supervision.

  • Participate in statistical validation and analyze internal/external data to guide study design decisions.

  • Apply modeling and simulation techniques to evaluate study robustness and optimize outcomes.

  • Develop Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs) and produce analysis, supporting graphics, and tables for various projects.

  • Interpret, summarize, and communicate statistical results clearly to internal stakeholders.

  • Support regulatory submissions with accurate statistical analyses.

  • Contribute to methodology improvements, process optimization, and best practices.

  • Ensure quality and consistency of statistical work through rigorous review and constructive challenge.


Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • MSc or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics (with substantial statistical components), or equivalent.

  • Programming knowledge and hands-on experience in SAS or R.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Effective time management and self-awareness in professional development.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience applying statistical expertise to solve complex problems.

  • Focus on quality and process improvement in statistical analyses.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, multicultural environment.
