Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Associate - Chemical Research to join our team at Jubilant Ingrevia Limited in Greater Noida. This role will focus on supporting chemical research projects through laboratory experiments, troubleshooting plant issues, conducting literature searches, and ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in organic chemistry, chemical reactions, and experience working in R&D environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Literature Search:

    • Conduct comprehensive literature searches using patents, journals, SciFinder, and other relevant sources to gather necessary information for ongoing and future projects.
  • Laboratory Experiments:

    • Execute laboratory experiments as per assigned tasks, ensuring accuracy, adherence to protocols, and effective documentation of results.
  • Handling Hazardous Gases:

    • Demonstrate expertise in safely handling hazardous gases such as chlorine, hydrogen, and nitrogen, ensuring strict safety protocols are followed.
  • Chemical Reactions:

    • Apply knowledge of various chemical reactions such as chlorination, nitration, reduction, and oxidation in experimental procedures and process development.
  • Plant Troubleshooting:

    • Troubleshoot issues related to existing chlorinated products in the plant, offering solutions that improve production efficiency and quality.
  • Basic Unit Processes:

    • Operate basic unit processes such as reactions, distillation, filtration, and drying, ensuring all processes run efficiently.
  • Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS):

    • Interpret and apply information from MSDS to ensure safe handling, storage, and use of chemicals.
  • Software Proficiency:

    • Utilize software tools such as BAAN, ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook), and SAP for data management and documentation of research processes.
  • R&D Lab Indenting:

    • Oversee the indenting of R&D lab materials, ensuring timely procurement and availability of required materials for research activities.
  • ISO Documentation:

    • Maintain and update ISO documentation to comply with quality standards and ensure proper accreditation.
  • Team Coordination:

    • Collaborate effectively with team members and subordinates to meet project goals and timelines.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain good laboratory practices to promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry.

  • Experience:

    • 3-5 years of relevant industrial experience in organic chemistry or chemical research.
    • Proven work experience in organic synthesis, with a focus on reactions such as chlorination, reduction, and oxidation.
  • Desirable Skills:

    • Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing chromatograms from GC (Gas Chromatography), GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry), HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography), LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry), and KF (Karl Fischer) Apparatus.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of organic chemistry and reaction mechanisms.
  • Expertise in handling hazardous chemicals and gases.
  • Familiarity with chromatographic and spectrometric analysis techniques.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate experimental records.
  • Proficient in using laboratory management software tools (e.g., BAAN, SAP, ELN).
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
