๐ Position Overview
As a Sr Section Lead – Manufacturing (EHS), you will be responsible for executing and managing all environment, health, and safety (EHS) programs and compliance activities at the Baxter Ahmedabad manufacturing plant. Your work will ensure adherence to environmental and safety laws, smooth operation of effluent systems, and readiness for audits and emergencies.
๐งญ Key Responsibilities
๐ฑ Environmental & Safety Compliance
Develop, implement, and monitor EHS procedures, programs, and guidelines.
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance with environmental and safety laws.
Handle regulatory inspections, assessments, and audits from government agencies.
Liaise with regulatory bodies for permits, inspections, and compliance submissions (air, water, hazardous waste, etc.).
โ๏ธ Plant & Systems Operation
Oversee the Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and captive incinerator.
Ensure smooth shift operations and continuity in all environmental and safety-related systems.
Maintain readiness of fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, fire extinguishers).
๐ Risk Management & Assessment
Conduct risk assessments, aspect-impact assessments, and plan safety interventions.
Monitor environmental parameters (e.g., noise, air quality, illumination) and ensure statutory compliance.
๐ Training & Awareness
Plan and conduct safety and environmental training programs, drills, and awareness sessions across all levels.
Lead crisis management planning and simulation exercises for environment and safety scenarios.
๐ Data & Reporting
Manage regulatory reporting, including collection and submission of environmental and safety data.
Support the ISO management systems implementation and maintenance:
ISO 14001 (Environmental)
ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
ISO 50001 (Energy Management)
ISO 22001 (Food Safety, if applicable)
๐ Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
Solid understanding of Indian environmental and safety regulations.
Hands-on experience managing ETP, incinerator operations, and hazardous waste handling.
Familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory compliance processes.
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
