Sr. Director – Global Diagnostics Partnerships at Lilly (On-site | Indianapolis, IN)

Job Summary:

Lilly, a global leader in pharmaceuticals and life sciences, is seeking an experienced Sr. Director – Global Diagnostics Partnerships to spearhead its strategic initiatives in diagnostic innovation. Based in Indianapolis, this senior-level role focuses on forging impactful partnerships with diagnostic providers and national labs to advance patient identification strategies across therapeutic areas. The position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in diagnostics, business development, and global strategic planning.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead global diagnostic partnership strategy to support precision medicine initiatives.

  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with labs and kit providers globally.

  • Represent Lilly in engagements with U.S. and international reference labs.

  • Design and implement innovative partnership models and operational processes.

  • Drive alignment between global diagnostic strategy and internal functions (commercial, compliance, legal, etc.).

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Lilly’s commercialization teams and diagnostic partners.

  • Monitor evolving diagnostic ecosystems and ensure readiness for new biomarker-directed therapies.

  • Support acquisition, sourcing, and measurement of diagnostic data.

  • Guide internal teams on execution of diagnostic collaboration agreements.

  • Travel requirement: approximately 25%.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (health sciences, business, etc.).

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in diagnostic partnerships or business development.

  • Strong understanding of diagnostic industry structure and global lab landscape.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional projects.

  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and influence skills.

  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed, global environment.

  • Ability to use data and analytics to inform business decisions.

  • Strong professional network in the diagnostics space.

Preferred:

  • 6+ years of diagnostic experience.

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D., MS, or MBA).

  • Familiarity with regulatory processes and IVD commercialization.
