About the Department

The Global Medical Affairs department in Bangalore is an extension of the Global Medical Affairs team headquartered in Denmark. This team includes scientific advisors, medical writers, project managers, and publication managers who collaborate with regional teams and affiliates. We communicate scientific and medical knowledge about our products to the scientific community and internal teams, support publication planning, and manage content development for medical events.


The Position:

As a Global Medical Advisor, you will provide strategic and medical guidance for Novo Nordisk’s portfolio of products. This includes leading the PDP process at the regional level, managing medical affairs deliverables, and building strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). You will act as a subject matter expert and provide medical guidance on the clinical implications of new findings and their impact on the treatment of diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and rare diseases.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • PDP Process: Act as PDP Secretary at the regional level, coordinating and facilitating the PDP process, and providing relevant input from various teams.

  • Scientific Communication: Transform clinical trial data into clear and effective scientific and commercial communication for internal and external stakeholders.

  • KOL & Association Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), conduct meetings, and support speakers in preparing presentations at conferences and symposia.

  • Medical Guidance: Provide timely, accurate, and credible scientific medical guidance across various medical affairs functions, ensuring alignment of cross-functional business activities.

  • Medical Education & Training: Design and execute medical education initiatives, including live training events and digital solutions, for key markets, regions, and affiliates.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with various internal departments, such as Field Medical Force, Marketing, Public Affairs, and Regulatory, to ensure alignment of business activities on specific products/projects.

  • Strategic Input: Provide strategic input for marketing, market access, and public affairs activities related to your portfolio.


Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • M.D. (or equivalent), with substantial clinical and/or research expertise in a relevant area, such as Endocrinology, Cardiology, General Practice, or Internal Medicine.

  • Strong clinical or research background, specifically in diabetes mellitus or other relevant therapeutic areas, with a focus on scientific communication and drug development.

  • At least 2 years of clinical or pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in clinical medicine, clinical research, and drug development.

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English.

  • Proven ability to manage relationships and communicate complex medical information to a variety of stakeholders.
