The Patient-Centered Research (PCR) group within Evidera specializes in patient experience, insights, outcomes, and preference research, enabling evidence generation for global product development and commercialization.

This fully remote position offers the opportunity to lead high-impact research programs, guide scientific strategy, and shape the future of direct-to-patient observational research.


Position Overview

The Senior Research Director is a recognized expert in direct-to-patient observational studies, including large-scale patient surveys with strong scientific influence and extensive publication history. This leadership role involves scientific oversight, strategic contributions, business development participation, and mentorship of junior researchers. The role also requires maintaining an active line of research and strong visibility within the scientific community.


Key Responsibilities

Research Leadership and Delivery

  • Develop and maintain an independent research portfolio within the Patient-Centered Research group.

  • Lead scientific delivery and ensure high-quality outcomes for client projects.

  • Manage research resources efficiently, ensuring delivery within project budgets and timelines.

  • Draft and review proposals, ensuring methodological rigor and scientific integrity.

Scientific Expertise and Excellence

  • Serve as senior scientific consultant on study design, regulatory considerations, and methodological best practices.

  • Maintain strong external visibility through publications, conference presentations, and thought leadership.

  • Oversee quantitative and qualitative analyses, interpret data, and guide team members in producing scientifically sound deliverables.

  • Drive innovation and research excellence across the PCR organization.

Strategic Influence and Consulting

  • Contribute to scientific direction, strategy, and organizational goals within PCR.

  • Provide high-level consultation to regulatory bodies, advisory boards, and scientific committees.

  • Collaborate across Evidera business units to design innovative solutions for complex client challenges.

  • Support business development through scientific engagement and client interactions.

Team Development and Management

  • Participate in recruitment activities, particularly for junior principal investigator roles.

  • Supervise mid- to senior-level scientific staff as needed.

  • Establish benchmarks for scientific quality and deliver training to advance team capabilities.


Education and Experience Requirements

  • PhD with 10+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 15+ years of experience in health outcomes research, patient-centered research, epidemiology, behavioral science, or related fields.

  • Significant experience in consulting with internal and external clients in a healthcare, pharmaceutical, or research context.

  • Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications, scientific leadership, and research innovation.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex research projects and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong networking and business development capabilities.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel; familiarity with SAS or similar analytical software is preferred.

  • Expertise in health preference research, patient-reported outcomes, and observational study methodologies.

  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to guide and mentor scientific teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate across business units and work effectively in a matrix environment.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.


Work Environment

  • Remote, home-based role with standard Monday–Friday schedule.

  • May require occasional travel for client meetings, conferences, or team activities.

  • Requires extended periods of computer-based work and virtual collaboration.
