Job Overview

EMD Electronics, a global leader in specialty materials and thin-film technologies, is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Catoosa, Oklahoma site. This is an exceptional opportunity for experienced professionals in chemical manufacturing, process engineering, or semiconductor fabrication to lead quality initiatives for next-generation thin-film materials used in AI, IoT, and memory devices.

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will drive world-class quality performance, lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving and process optimization, and serve as the voice of the customer to ensure exceptional product quality for major semiconductor manufacturers worldwide.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quality execution and continuous improvement initiatives for thin-film materials supplied to global semiconductor customers.

  • Direct cross-functional teams to resolve complex technology and process issues.

  • Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective, preventive, or mitigation actions to maintain high-quality standards.

  • Support site quality performance and continuous improvement efforts using tools like SPC, FMEA, and data-driven analysis.

  • Identify automation and digitization opportunities to improve process visibility and accelerate decision-making.

  • Participate in material disposition decisions, ensuring compliance with internal processes and customer requirements.

  • Lead and support internal and external audits, maintaining adherence to ISO9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards.

  • Contribute to global quality initiatives, Lean, and Six Sigma projects to optimize processes and reduce variability.


Qualifications & Experience Required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or a related technical discipline.

  • 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, process engineering, control engineering, analytical chemistry, or semiconductor fabrication.

  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (ISO9001, IATF 16949) and process controls.

  • Proficiency in statistical tools and software for quality analysis (SPC, t-test, ANOVA, multivariate modelling).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other relevant certifications.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

  • Experience with Lean and/or data-driven process optimization projects.

  • Knowledge of quality tools for problem-solving (5 Whys, Model-Based Problem Solving, FMEA).

  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software (JMP, Palantir Foundry, Python, Tableau).

  • Experience in process automation, data digitization, and statistical modeling.

  • Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual skills (Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, German) are a plus.

  • Proven experience within the electronics or semiconductor industries.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $126,500 – $189,700, dependent on experience, skills, and location.
