Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior/Principal Chemist to join our innovative team focused on oligonucleotide-based medicines. This role will provide an opportunity to drive project progress and contribute to the development of clinical candidates aimed at curing diseases. The ideal candidate will possess strong chemistry knowledge, technical expertise in oligonucleotide synthesis, and a passion for improving patient outcomes through groundbreaking research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Synthesize and analyze highly modified oligonucleotides to drive progress on projects.
  • Lead and implement proactive safety practices, fostering a safe and effective laboratory culture.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve synthetic challenges in the lab, optimizing existing workflows.
  • Operate and maintain oligonucleotide synthesizers and other scientific equipment, ensuring a productive laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, contributing to experimental execution and achieving shared project objectives.
  • Review scientific literature to apply new strategies and techniques to oligonucleotide synthesis.
  • Maintain accurate experimental documentation and communicate findings through presentations and reports.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field with 5+ years of experience, or Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field with 2+ years of experience.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Experience in solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis and troubleshooting automated synthesizers.
  • Expertise in optimizing synthetic protocols, purification processes, and analytical techniques for oligonucleotides.
  • Experience with analytical and physiochemical characterization techniques (e.g., mass spectrometry, separation techniques, and other biophysical/biochemical methods).
  • Strong record-keeping and communication skills.
  • Ability to work confidently and collaboratively in an entrepreneurial team-oriented environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The anticipated salary range for this role is $63,000 - $162,800, depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
  • Eligibility for a company bonus, benefits including 401(k) participation, medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits, flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts), life insurance, time off, leave benefits, wellness programs, and more.
