Senior Medical Editor – Medical Writing

Location: Pune, MH, India (Remote)

Job Summary:

Syneos Health is hiring a Senior Medical Editor to join its global medical writing team. This role requires expertise in medical editing, copyediting, and publishing clinical research documents. You will ensure all documents meet FDA, EMA, ICH, and internal standards while collaborating with medical writers and cross-functional teams. The role offers flexibility with remote work options and career development opportunities in the pharmaceutical and clinical research industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure regulatory documents meet FDA, EU, ICH, and client standards.

  • Represent the editorial group in internal and cross-functional meetings.

  • Monitor project timelines and budgets, updating stakeholders proactively.

  • Mentor medical editing staff and train team members on processes and standards.

  • Serve as project lead for complex medical writing assignments.

  • Copyedit scientific documents for grammar, style (AMA), and accuracy.

  • Conduct data integrity reviews to ensure document quality.

  • Develop and revise internal editorial policies and process improvement tools.

  • Manage projects in accordance with SOPs and client requirements.

  • Compile and publish medical writing deliverables as required.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Clinical Sciences, English, or Journalism.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in medical editing, copyediting, or publishing.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and publishing tools; ISIToolbox preferred.

  • Excellent knowledge of AMA style guide and regulatory document standards.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of FDA, EU regulations, ICH, and ISO standards preferred.
