We are currently seeking a Nephrologist to join our clinical development organization and support a range of clinical studies. The Medical Director will play an essential role in supporting the development and execution of Clinical Development Plans (CDPs), working across phases of clinical studies (Phase II–III) to bring innovative therapies to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Gather, analyze, and synthesize necessary data and information to create and refine the CDP.
    • Act as a key contributor in the design, development, and execution of clinical studies.
  • Medical Monitoring & Study Support:

    • Serve as the medical monitor for assigned studies, ensuring patient safety and study compliance.
    • Provide clinical oversight, assessing the progress and outcomes of studies.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Work closely with internal teams, including business development, research, commercial, legal, and others.
    • Engage with external stakeholders and multidisciplinary internal groups to share knowledge and align on clinical development goals.
  • Regulatory & Scientific Input:

    • Contribute to regulatory filings and submissions, providing clinical science information and support for regulatory processes.
    • Participate in early development/Phase I reviews to provide clinical input on study design and protocol development.
  • CDP Strategy & Alignment:

    • Ensure strategic and operational alignment of the CDP with relevant development strategies and asset team priorities.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop essential CDP components (e.g., data strategy, KOL development, publication strategy).

Who You Are

  • Required Qualifications:

    • MD with board-certified training in Nephrology or an MD with significant nephrology-specific research and clinical experience.
    • 2+ years of post-graduate clinical/scientific research and/or clinical trial experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with principles and techniques of data analysis, interpretation, and clinical relevance.
    • Proven scientific writing experience (e.g., manuscripts, grants, clinical protocols).
    • Exceptional communication skills, both for long-form scientific presentations and concise, clear communication of complex scientific topics.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with the pharma/biotech industry and knowledge of the various functions and roles involved in drug development.
    • Experience in collaborating with teams to measure study progress against objectives and proactively address any challenges.
    • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams, thought leaders, advocacy organizations, and external stakeholders.
  • Position Level:

    • This role may be offered at the Medical Director or Lead Medical Director level depending on the candidate’s experience and skills.
