The Senior Manager, Medical Communications and Content Solutions (MCCS) is responsible for leading the development, review, and delivery of high-quality, scientifically accurate medical content across multiple formats and therapeutic areas. This role combines strategic leadership, scientific expertise, and content development skills to ensure alignment with Pfizer’s medical and publication standards while fostering innovation through digital and generative AI technologies.
Independently develop, review, and manage diverse medical and scientific content, including:
Abstracts, manuscripts, congress posters/presentations
Graphical abstracts, systematic literature reviews, plain language summaries
Medical education materials, infographics, slide decks, and social media content
Multimedia and video content for internal and external audiences
Ensure accuracy, clarity, and scientific rigor, adhering to Pfizer’s internal quality and compliance standards.
Review and quality-check content prepared by team members for consistency, appropriateness, and relevance to the target audience.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) within the assigned therapeutic area(s).
Provide scientific and editorial guidance to peers and junior writers.
Lead and represent MCCS in Scientific Publication Committee (SPC) meetings and cross-functional forums.
Contribute to the development of internal knowledge repositories, process documentation, and checklists.
Train and mentor team members in medical writing best practices, project management, and the use of AI-driven tools for efficient content creation.
Foster continuous learning within the team by identifying and implementing emerging trends and technologies in medical communication.
Lead end-to-end project execution, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, authors, external vendors, and cross-functional teams (e.g., Graphics, Statistics, Compliance).
Monitor project timelines, proactively identify risks, and implement effective solutions.
Champion innovative medical communication strategies, including digital-first and modular content approaches.
Integrate generative AI tools and emerging technologies into the content development process to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and elevate content quality.
Advanced scientific degree such as MRes, MPharm, MSc, PhD, PharmD, MBBS/MD, or MPH.
Minimum 7 years of experience in medical communications, scientific writing, or publications within the pharma, CRO, biotech, or academic sectors.
Proven ability to lead projects independently and manage multiple stakeholders across regions.
Strong interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
Demonstrated understanding of technology applications in medical content development.
Certification: ISMPP-CMPP®
Experience with multimedia, omnichannel, and digital content creation.
Proven ability to rapidly adopt new technologies and content development tools.
Global work or educational experience preferred.
