About the Role

Syneos Health is seeking a Senior Analyst – SLR (HEOR) to support Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) initiatives focused on evidence generation and value communication for global pharmaceutical and life sciences clients. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, and evidence synthesis within clinical and economic research domains.

The successful candidate will contribute to high-impact HEOR projects that inform reimbursement, market access, and strategic decision-making across therapeutic areas.

Experience Required

  • PhD or Master’s degree with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in systematic literature review methods in pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, or consulting environments
    OR

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in SLR and meta-analysis projects

  • Proven experience conducting clinical, economic, quality-of-life (QoL), and burden of illness literature reviews

  • Hands-on experience in drafting and delivering Systematic Literature Review (SLR) reports

Key Responsibilities

Systematic Literature Review and Evidence Generation

  • Design, execute, and manage systematic literature reviews (SLRs), targeted literature reviews (TLRs), and meta-analyses

  • Refine research questions in collaboration with project leads and develop detailed research protocols

  • Conduct structured literature searches across electronic databases such as PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and relevant grey literature sources

  • Apply PICO criteria to screen abstracts and full-text articles for inclusion

  • Perform critical appraisal of studies, assessing quality, risk of bias, and heterogeneity

Data Extraction and Meta-Analysis

  • Extract and synthesize data into predefined evidence templates

  • Conduct meta-analyses using appropriate statistical methodologies

  • Generate forest plots and pooled estimates using software such as RevMan, Stata, R, or Comprehensive Meta-Analysis

  • Prepare and review PRISMA flow diagrams documenting study selection

Reporting and Value Communication

  • Draft evidence tables, statistical outputs, and final SLR/TLR reports

  • Develop presentation decks summarizing key findings for client delivery

  • Interpret clinical and economic evidence trends to support HEOR strategy

  • Ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, and methodological rigor

Technical Skills and Tools

  • Strong proficiency in biomedical databases including MEDLINE and Embase

  • Experience with systematic review and reference management tools such as EndNote and ReadCube

  • Proficiency in statistical software for meta-analysis (R, Stata, RevMan, Comprehensive Meta-Analysis)

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Therapeutic Area Experience

Experience in one or more of the following therapeutic areas will be considered advantageous:

  • Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism (CRM)

  • Respiratory

  • Inflammation and Immunology

  • Oncology
