Role Overview:
Syngene is seeking a Research Investigator (Level 7-I) to support analytical research and development initiatives enabling chemical development and API supply. The role involves advanced analytical method development, routine analysis, data interpretation, and contributing to multiple projects within a GLP/GxP-compliant environment. This position requires strong technical expertise, effective documentation practices, and the ability to mentor junior staff while ensuring timely delivery of high-quality scientific outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine analysis of in-process and isolated samples for early intermediates and APIs using chromatographic (HPLC, UPLC, GC) and wet analytical techniques.

  • Interpret analytical results and plan subsequent experiments in coordination with the chemistry team.

  • Develop, qualify, and validate analytical methods according to global regulatory standards.

  • Maintain electronic lab notebooks (ELN) and review documentation generated by peers or junior analysts.

  • Prepare analytical method reports and support periodic reporting to internal and external clients.

  • Participate in weekly project review meetings and provide updates on project status.

  • Lead initiatives to optimize lab workflows or departmental projects.

  • Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously and supervise subordinates for timely completion of assignments.

  • Prepare and deliver scientific presentations in internal meetings, fostering knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a related discipline.

  • Strong educational and theoretical foundation in analytical chemistry with hands-on experience.

  • Proven experience in method development, qualification, and routine analysis of APIs and intermediates.

  • Proficient in chromatographic and wet analytical techniques.

  • Knowledge of documentation practices as per GxP compliance (ELN, SOPs).

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools for reporting and data analysis.
