Position Summary:

As a Research Associate I in the DMPK (Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics) team, you will play a crucial role in supporting in vitro ADME-Tox studies and performing various cell-based assays to evaluate drug absorption, metabolism, and transport properties. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research and work collaboratively with a skilled team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Cell Culture and Maintenance:

    • Handle and maintain various cell culture activities (e.g., Caco-2, MDCK, HepG2, and MDCK-II-MDR1).
    • Maintain cell culture equipment, including CO2 gas supply, routine contamination checks, and cleaning.
    • Prepare, maintain, and cryopreserve various cell culture lines as needed.
  • Assay Design and Execution:

    • Design and execute key in vitro assays such as Caco-2, MDCK wild-type, MDCK-II-MDR1, and MDCK-II BCRP transporter assays in both 24-well and 96-well plate formats using transwell systems.
    • Conduct PXR-based assays, including CYP induction assays.
  • Data Recording and Reporting:

    • Prepare study reports, update electronic laboratory notebooks (eLN), and maintain accurate and timely records of experimental procedures.
    • Ensure all documentation and results are compliant with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Laboratory Safety & SOPs:

    • Follow proper aseptic techniques and adhere to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tissue culture and other lab activities.
    • Ensure a high level of attention to laboratory safety, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Reagent and Media Preparation:

    • Prepare culture media, growth factors, and associated reagents necessary for cell culture.
    • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of various experimental reagents and supplies.
  • Knowledge of DMPK Assays:

    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of hepatocyte stability, absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion (ADME), and toxicology assays.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualification:

    • M.Sc. in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, or related fields.
  • Experience:

    • 0-2 years of relevant experience in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, cell culture, or laboratory research.
    • Familiarity with cell culture techniques, assay design, and DMPK/ADME studies is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in the use of laboratory instruments and techniques, such as HPLC, cell-based assays, and other DMPK-related analytical methods.
    • Strong understanding of cell culture principles, including maintenance, sub-culturing, and cryopreservation of cell lines.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong communication skills to interact effectively within a team and with cross-functional departments.
    • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
