Job Summary

Abbott’s Established Pharmaceuticals Division (EPD) is hiring a Regional Medical Advisor (RMA) based in Mumbai, India. This field-based role supports medical and scientific engagement activities, clinical study oversight, and key opinion leader (KOL) relationship management in the assigned therapeutic area. The RMA works cross-functionally with medical, commercial, and research teams to support high-impact therapy shaping, post-marketing studies, and real-world data collection—contributing to Abbott’s mission of advancing evidence-based healthcare.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain credible relationships with KOLs, physicians, and healthcare professionals

  • Deliver unbiased scientific information and presentations to healthcare professionals

  • Provide scientific support for internal teams and external stakeholders across medical affairs and commercial functions

  • Ideate and execute high science educational activities to shape therapeutic landscapes

  • Support post-marketing clinical projects and investigator-initiated studies (IIS)

  • Gather medical insights and contribute to brand planning and new product strategies

  • Participate in scientific congresses and summarize key insights for internal teams

  • Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, national laws, global regulations, and ethical standards

  • Facilitate compassionate use/named-patient programs, as applicable

  • Support digital HCP/patient engagement and real-world data initiatives

  • Assist in identifying and onboarding suitable investigators for clinical or educational collaborations


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Pharmacology or Allied Sciences (preferred)

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in medical affairs, clinical research, or pharmacology

  • Sound knowledge of clinical research methodology, regulatory guidelines, and scientific writing

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with external and internal stakeholders

  • High ethical integrity, compliance orientation, and scientific accuracy

  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written skills

  • Ability to travel frequently across the assigned geography
