Regional Medical Advisor – Mumbai | Abbott

Job Summary

Abbott is seeking a dedicated Regional Medical Advisor (RMA) to join its Medical and Clinical Affairs team in Mumbai. This field-based role is ideal for medical professionals with a strong foundation in pharmacology or allied sciences. The RMA will be instrumental in establishing and nurturing relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), providing scientific support, and driving therapeutic shaping initiatives while ensuring compliance with global and local regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all activities align with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

  • Establish and maintain credible relationships with KOLs and academic institutions.

  • Design and deliver innovative, high-science engagements for healthcare professionals.

  • Provide scientific support for post-marketing clinical studies and medical projects.

  • Deliver unbiased scientific presentations to physicians and groups.

  • Aid in the selection of physicians for collaborative research and educational events.

  • Monitor competitor strategies and market intelligence; communicate findings internally.

  • Collect real-world insights from HCPs and patients to inform brand strategies.

  • Represent Abbott at scientific conferences and summarize key developments.

  • Support compassionate use/named patient programs in compliance with regulations.

  • Train internal sales/marketing teams on scientific and technical aspects.

  • Contribute to digital HCP and patient engagement programs.

  • Partner with clinical operations in real-world data collection activities.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate or Post Graduate in Pharmacology or Allied Sciences.

  • Strong scientific understanding and interest in clinical research.

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and research methodology.

  • Proven relationship-building skills with KOLs and stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication (spoken and written English).

  • Strong compliance and ethical orientation.

  • Adaptability, initiative, and innovative problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively.

  • Analytical skills to monitor market and competitor trends.
