Job Summary:

The Recruitment & Retention Solution Strategist develops innovative, data-driven strategies to optimize patient recruitment and retention for clinical trials. Acting as a subject matter expert during the pre-award phase, this role collaborates with internal teams and clients to ensure strategies are feasible, timely, and minimize site and patient burden.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design customized patient recruitment and retention strategies aligned with study goals and client expectations

  • Evaluate study-specific factors: target patient populations, protocol complexity, site feasibility, and geographic reach

  • Collaborate with internal teams and business development to create competitive and differentiated RFP responses

  • Initiate Patient Recruitment Plans (PRPs) and document recruitment/retention risks with mitigation strategies

  • Integrate real-world data and predictive analytics by partnering with feasibility, operational, and data science teams

  • Present and defend strategies during pre-award discussions and bid defense meetings

  • Represent R&R in strategic sponsor discussions to ensure alignment with client goals and industry standards

  • Track proposal outcomes, analyze performance data, and refine strategies continuously

  • Contribute to best practices, case studies, and lessons learned to enhance R&R processes

  • Stay current on global regulatory requirements, cultural considerations, and evolving patient engagement practices


Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree preferred, with ≥5 years of experience in:

    • Patient recruitment and retention strategy development

    • Clinical trial feasibility or directly related areas

  • Direct experience designing recruitment strategies across multiple clinical trial phases

  • Proven collaboration with operational, medical, business development, site feasibility, and vendor stakeholders

  • Experience managing site-level recruitment activities (patient scheduling, data collection, site initiation)

  • Strong understanding of clinical trial protocols and recruitment feasibility factors

  • Experience presenting strategies to sponsors/clients in bid defense settings

  • Experience in complex therapeutic areas (rare diseases, pediatrics, geriatrics, terminal illness)

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines

  • Skilled in evaluating recruitment and retention data to optimize strategies

  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Membership in professional clinical research organizations preferred
