Position Summary

The Radiographer II – Mammography will perform routine and specialized mammography procedures, assist physicians, and maintain high-quality imaging standards. This role emphasizes patient safety, precise imaging, and operational efficiency, while supporting diagnostic and interventional procedures in breast health.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized mammography procedures, including breast localization and biopsy support.

  • Transfer, position, and instruct patients to ensure safety and optimal imaging results.

  • Assist physicians with administration of contrast media or other procedural requirements.

  • Rotate within the department or across shifts as required.

  • Develop and process mammography films using CR processors and PACS.

  • Schedule breast biopsy patients and coordinate procedural workflow.

  • Select, operate, and maintain imaging equipment according to safety and quality standards.

  • Practice sterile techniques and follow infection control protocols.

  • Comply with BBF, TB, and occupational safety policies, providing appropriate protective measures.

  • Maintain accurate patient records, billing, and exam documentation using Radiology Information Systems (RIS).

  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous process improvement initiatives.

  • Provide first aid and emergency support as necessary.

  • Uphold cleanliness, organization, and safety of imaging areas.


Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program.

  • Certification: American Registered Radiology Technologist (ARRT).

  • Must obtain advanced certification in mammography within 12 months of hire or transfer.

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Radiologic Technologist.

  • Skills: Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, adaptability to patient conditions, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.


Licensure & Certifications

  • ARRT Certificate (Radiologic Technologist)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR (per AHA standards, within 30 days of hire)

  • Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73 clearances
