Position Summary:

The Qualitative COA Lead will manage and grow a team of qualitative scientists within the PCR group, delivering qualitative research to support global Clinical Outcomes Assessment (COA) programs. This includes developing and commercializing patient, caregiver, clinician, and observer-reported outcomes using a variety of qualitative research methods. The role combines scientific leadership, team management, client engagement, business development, and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and champion the qualitative COA team’s scientific vision, marketing, and business development strategies.

  • Lead the annual team planning, coordinating internal and external stakeholder collaboration.

  • Manage RFP responses, resource allocation, proposal and budget approval.

  • Oversee recruitment, staff development, performance management, and capacity planning.

  • Identify business risks and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert scientific advice on COA strategies.

  • Act as scientific advisor and/or principal investigator on client projects.

  • Drive innovation and thought leadership to advance qualitative COA science.


Education & Experience:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in qualitative research, COA development, and validation.

  • At least 3 years’ experience managing and developing teams.

  • Proven track record of publications and applied scientific leadership.


Skills & Abilities:

  • Expertise in qualitative research methodologies and COA development.

  • Deep understanding of global regulatory requirements relevant to COA.

  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with experience in strategic planning and resource management.

  • Excellent client consulting skills with scientific and commercial acumen.

  • Effective delegation and project management capabilities, including budgeting and forecasting.

  • Superior interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Tactful handling of confidential information.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.

  • Work upright and stationary for typical office hours.

  • Proficient with standard office technology.

  • Able to handle multiple projects under pressure.
