Job Title:

QC Microbiologist – Liverpool, UK


Job Summary:

Vantive is seeking an experienced QC Microbiologist to join its state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility in Liverpool, UK. The successful candidate will perform critical microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and QC lab operations while ensuring adherence to GMP and GLP practices. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about quality control and microbiological excellence in pharmaceutical manufacturing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct microbiological testing of water systems and drug products.

  • Test raw materials, in-process samples, release and stability samples.

  • Perform environmental monitoring of production areas.

  • Manage sample booking, control, and related documentation.

  • Support continuous improvement and digital transformation in the QC laboratory.

  • Review and maintain relevant SOPs and validate analytical methods.

  • Ensure GMP, GLP, and GDP compliance in all lab activities.

  • Provide support and training to team members.

  • Handle laboratory investigations, exceptions, NCR, and CAPA processes.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related life sciences.

  • Technical knowledge of regulated pharmaceutical microbiology environments.

  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques, pipetting, plate reading, sample dilutions, and analytical weighing.

  • Experience with Vitek system and troubleshooting laboratory procedures.

  • Strong understanding of GMP, GLP, GDP, and regulatory expectations.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented lab environment.

  • Continual improvement mindset with proactive problem-solving ability.
