Position Overview
The Project Manager/Project Lead is an integral member of the clinical study delivery team. They lead and manage clinical trials, ensuring project delivery meets contractual requirements, SOPs, and policies. The role emphasizes operational excellence, financial performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.
The Project Manager may run smaller, regional studies independently and leverage therapeutic expertise and IQVIA solutions to optimize trial execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Study Management & Leadership
Participate in bid defense presentations; may lead presentations for smaller regional studies.
Develop integrated study management plans with the core project team.
Execute clinical studies or assigned portions per contract, optimizing speed, quality, and cost.
Set objectives for core project teams or sub-teams; monitor and assess performance.
Collaborate with other functional groups to manage milestones, study issues, and obstacles.
2. Risk, Quality & Compliance
Monitor progress against contract and provide proactive updates to stakeholders.
Manage project risks and contingencies; lead problem-solving and resolution.
Identify quality risks and issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
3. Client & Vendor Management
Serve as primary or backup project contact for customers; maintain client relationships.
Lead vendor management activities as required for project delivery.
Manage scope changes and change control processes as necessary.
4. Financial & Performance Oversight
Ensure the financial success of the project.
Forecast and identify opportunities to accelerate activities and revenue.
Implement lessons learned and best practices.
5. Team Development
Build and lead cross-functional project teams.
Mentor less experienced project team members to support professional development.
Provide input on team members’ performance relative to project tasks.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field.
Experience:
+7 years of clinical research experience.
Around 5 years project management experience in global, client-facing environments.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication; excellent presentation skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work through others, partner cross-functionally, and deliver results efficiently.
Ability to bring clarity to disparate information to inform actions and drive results.
