Role Overview

The Program Manager, Medical Communications and Content Solutions (MCCS) is responsible for developing, reviewing, and managing the creation of diverse medical affairs content.
This includes scientific abstracts, manuscripts, posters, presentations, systematic literature reviews, infographics, plain-language summaries, medical education materials, and multimedia assets.

The role demands a blend of scientific expertise, communication excellence, leadership, and the ability to oversee multiple content projects in a global, fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Content Development: Independently research, write, and develop high-quality medical and scientific materials such as abstracts, congress posters, manuscripts, slide decks, videos, infographics, and plain-language summaries.

  • Content Review: Review drafts prepared by other team members for accuracy, clarity, compliance, and suitability for target audiences, ensuring adherence to internal standards and checklists.

  • Training & Mentorship: Train and mentor team members on writing standards, processes, and tools to ensure consistent quality.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a functional expert within the assigned therapeutic area, providing guidance on product-specific communication requirements.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Graphics, Compliance, Statistics, etc.) and maintain open communication with authors and stakeholders.

  • Project Management: Track progress and ensure on-time delivery of all projects while maintaining quality and compliance with regulatory and company requirements.

  • Innovation & Technology:

    • Learn and apply new tools, including generative AI platforms, for efficient and compliant content creation.

    • Identify emerging trends and tools for medical content and train the broader MCCS team.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all content adheres to applicable industry standards, internal guidelines, and Pfizer’s high-quality benchmarks.


Basic Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced scientific degree (e.g., MRes, MPharm, MSc, PhD, PharmD, MBBS/MD, MPH).

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in developing or managing medical/scientific content within the pharmaceutical, CRO, biotech, or academic sectors.

  • Core Skills:

    • Strong leadership and project management capabilities.

    • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

    • Proven ability to build relationships with global, cross-functional teams.

    • Understanding of digital tools, platforms, and technologies used in medical content creation.

  • Competencies:

    • High attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.

    • Capability to lead multiple projects end-to-end independently.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in medical communications or content strategy.

  • ISMPP-CMPP® certification.

  • Experience in multimedia and omnichannel content creation.

  • Rapid adaptability to new digital and technology platforms.

  • Global work or education experience in the healthcare/scientific domain.
