Role Overview

The Procurement Analyst / Procurement Manager is responsible for managing procurement operations related to clinical trial services, including sourcing materials, supplies, equipment, and vendor services that support clinical research activities.

The role focuses on vendor management, procurement strategy, contract negotiation, cost optimization, and operational efficiency within a clinical trial and CRO (Contract Research Organization) environment.


Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Operations

  • Manage procurement activities supporting clinical trial operations

  • Acquire:

    • Materials

    • Supplies

    • Equipment

    • Vendor services

  • Ensure procurement activities are efficient, compliant, and cost-effective


2. RFP & Vendor Management

  • Manage and track the complete Request for Proposal (RFP) lifecycle

  • Coordinate vendor solicitation and bid comparison processes

  • Review and compare:

    • Specifications

    • Vendor quotations

    • Service costs

  • Support vendor negotiations to reduce operational costs


3. Contract Negotiation

  • Negotiate:

    • Pricing

    • Terms and conditions

    • Supplier agreements

  • Ensure favorable commercial agreements and vendor terms

  • Establish and track procurement savings targets


4. Procurement Strategy & Process Improvement

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals

  • Build tools and processes to improve:

    • Procurement efficiency

    • Service quality

    • Operational consistency

  • Lead transformation initiatives to strengthen procurement capabilities


5. Cost Optimization & Risk Management

  • Deliver measurable value through:

    • Cost reduction

    • Cost avoidance

  • Ensure procurement activities provide competitive advantage and operational efficiency


6. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with:

    • Purchasing policies

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in:

    • Business Administration

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in:

    • Life sciences procurement

    • Outsourcing

    • Clinical trial procurement

    • CRO operations
