Job Overview

A leading global life sciences information organization is seeking a Principal STEM Content Analyst to join its STEM Content team in Hyderabad. This senior-level role focuses on scientific data curation, ontology management, pharmaceutical intelligence, and database governance within the Life Sciences and Healthcare (LSH) domain.

The position is designed for experienced professionals with deep exposure to pharmaceutical data, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), drug development workflows, and structured scientific databases. The selected candidate will play a strategic role in improving data discoverability, semantic integrity, and ontology-driven content modeling across a global scientific platform.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals seeking leadership-level responsibility in scientific content intelligence, pharma data management, and ontology-driven database systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain editorial content frameworks, terminology standards, and ontology structures within a scientific database

  • Ensure accurate modeling of entities and relationships in ontology-driven systems

  • Oversee integration of new scientific data sources while maintaining semantic consistency and data governance compliance

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for editorial tools, relational data structures, and content management workflows

  • Provide training, mentorship, and quality oversight to ensure consistent application of editorial and relational standards

  • Collaborate with operations, product management, and data stakeholders to align editorial workflows with product requirements

  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement system and process improvements

  • Support cross-functional initiatives related to data onboarding, ontology expansion, relationship normalization, and tool enhancement

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve data integration and ontology structure issues

  • Monitor data quality metrics and proactively implement corrective actions to support long-term business goals

Required Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm / M.Pharm) or equivalent qualification in a Life Sciences discipline.

Experience:
Minimum 7 years of professional experience working with scientific or technical databases, preferably in pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors.
Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical data analysis, APIs, and drug development lifecycle.
Hands-on experience in scientific data curation, content management, or database administration.
Experience conducting literature reviews and patent research with the ability to interpret scientific publications and industry reports.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of hierarchical data structures and ontology-based databases

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry workflows and drug portfolio development

  • Proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis, filtering, lookups, and reporting

  • Familiarity with data governance principles and editorial policies

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven industry experience within pharmaceutical or healthcare organizations

  • Experience working with patent databases and public scientific datasets

The STEM Content team is globally distributed, with members located in Hyderabad, the United States, and Barcelona. The team specializes in collecting, curating, and structuring scientific data from patents, news sources, and public datasets to develop comprehensive drug intelligence portfolios, including active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

This collaborative international environment supports high-impact data solutions for pharmaceutical research, drug discovery, and healthcare analytics.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday
8.5 hours per day
Hybrid work model
Flexibility required for occasional collaboration with US time zones
