Role Overview
The Principal Product Manager – Pharmacovigilance & Safety Systems will lead the strategic development and lifecycle management of drug safety and clinical research technology platforms. This leadership role focuses on defining long-term product vision, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, optimizing product performance, and ensuring market competitiveness in the global pharmacovigilance landscape.
This position is ideal for senior product professionals with expertise in safety systems, regulatory technology, and enterprise SaaS solutions within pharmaceutical or clinical research environments.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
Define and communicate long-term product strategy aligned with corporate and business objectives.
Develop product roadmaps for pharmacovigilance and safety platforms.
Ensure executive-level alignment across technology, safety, regulatory, and commercial teams.
Product Lifecycle Management
Oversee the complete lifecycle from ideation and development to launch, scaling, and sunset.
Drive continuous improvement based on user feedback, compliance changes, and market intelligence.
Maximize return on investment through effective resource allocation and prioritization.
Market & Competitive Analysis
Conduct in-depth analysis of global pharmacovigilance and drug safety technology trends.
Identify new opportunities for innovation and strategic partnerships.
Support evaluation of acquisitions and integration of safety-related technologies.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the voice of the customer in product development decisions.
Lead cross-functional collaboration across engineering, clinical operations, regulatory affairs, and data teams.
Build strategic partnerships that enhance product value and scalability.
Performance & Risk Management
Define and monitor KPIs to measure product success and adoption.
Utilize data-driven insights to guide decision-making and prioritization.
Identify risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related discipline.
Minimum 5+ years of Product Management experience, preferably within pharmaceutical, clinical research, or health technology sectors.
Hands-on experience with pharmacovigilance and safety systems such as Argus, Aeris, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of medical, clinical trial, and safety data workflows.
Proven ability to develop and execute long-term product strategies aligned with business objectives.
Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional global teams.
Advanced analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives in dynamic market conditions.
Preferred Competencies
Experience in SaaS-based healthcare or life sciences technology platforms.
Exposure to global drug safety regulations and compliance standards.
Experience in digital transformation initiatives within pharmacovigilance environments.
